The Benefits of Travelling
It is undeniable that there is no substitute for traveling and discovering new places or returning to favorite ones. Irrespective of the age and destination people choose to travel to, the reasons for traveling can vary: overseas posting, family and leisure trips. It does not really matter what means of transport you choose — plane, train, ship or car — traveling is usually an enjoyable experience, at least for people who have sufficient money to organize a safe and comfortable trip. Apart from recharging your batteries, spending time with your nearest and dearest, traveling has much more benefits, which should not be overlooked. If I write a dissertation conclusion, I will write the following.
One of the main advantages of traveling is the opportunity to spend some time all by oneself. Nowadays, people are increasingly absorbed by their routine, work and other errands that need to take care of. This self-absorbed way of living affects their happiness and general well-being. In situations like this, people need some diversion like going to some other places, which can restore their energy and inspire to embark on something new. Traveling is a great way to get away from day-to-date mundane life and experience new emotions, feelings, as well as stretch one's mind with new discoveries and knowledge.
Travelling also gives us a truly unique feeling of the world's hugeness and our insignificance in relation to it. When traveling to other places, seeing other people live and think differently, we change our perception of this world and come to understand its uniqueness. Traveling undeniably changes our outlook on life and gives us multiple useful lessons and knowledge that we can apply in our everyday life.
Another essential benefit of traveling is the opportunity to see one's own country from an absolutely different perspective. It can be achieved by drawing a parallel between one's home and a foreign country.
While traveling, people also come to know their 'home' better. By comparing and contrasting, they may conclude that their own country is not as free as they believed it to be. Additionally, one can fully understand what it is like to live in their native country after seeing it from distance, from a completely different angle. That stems from the fact that when traveling and following the foreign country's laws and traditions, one comes to understand how life functions in their own countries, its peculiarities, advantages, and drawbacks. Inevitably, it can change people's perception of their own country and general attitude to it. This is done when comparing such essential characteristics as women’s rights, human rights, culture, beliefs, government reliability, etc.
The new experience and knowledge that people gain while traveling impel them to be more adventurous, to appreciate their lives, to live to the fullest, to make the most of each day, to be more open-minded, and to discover this world, people, and cultures. While traveling, people can experience an absolutely new life, which is similar to the experience when reading books. In the case of traveling, people can become citizens of the country they are visiting even if it will not last for a long time.
To sum it up, traveling is beneficial for people of any age. Not only is it a key to self-discovery, better understanding of their beliefs and lives but it is also a tool by means of which we can comprehend the world we live in.
Additionally, it enables people to understand themselves as citizens of the world, as well as to feel the connection with many other people living in this world, even if they are never meant to meet each other, even if their lives are so different that it may seem that they inhabit different planets.
