Brief

Joint Entrance Exam (Main) is led by CBSE, for affirmation in different Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, Other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, Institutions financed by taking an interest State Governments, and different Institutions. For designing courses, competitors show up in Paper – I and for engineering courses, applicants show up in Paper – II. Additionally, (JEE Main) is a qualification test for (JEE Advanced), which is for affirmation in undergrad programs offered by the IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) and ISM (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad.
JEE Main is held in different modes i.e. PC Based and in addition in Pen and paper design.


Eligibility Criteria

Date of Birth

Students whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1993 are qualified for JEE (Main) 2020. In any case, upper age limit is loose by 5 years on account of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) competitors, i.e. SC, ST and PwD applicants who are conceived on or after October 01, 1988 are qualified. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University endorsement might be considered.

Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination (QE)

Candidates who have passed Class 12th in 2018, 2019 or appearing in 2020 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE Main 2020.

Number of Attempts

JEE Main candidates can participate in the entrance exam for 3 consecutive years. The exam will be conducted twice a year, candidates may appear in both the sessions. If a candidate sits for both the sessions, it shall be counted as a single attempt.

Exam Pattern

JEE (Main) – 2020 shall have two papers, Paper-1 (B. E. / B. Tech.) and Paper-2 (B. Arch. / B. Planning.). Candidates may take Paper-1 (B. E. / B. Tech.), or Paper-2 (B. Arch. / B. Planning.), or both as per the course(s) they are seeking admission to.

Exam pattern for JEE (Main) – 2020 has been predicted based on the pattern of 2019. It will be updated based on the announcements by the exam conducting committee.

Note: There is no printed application form for JEE (Main). However, the candidates are advised to retain hard copy of the application i.e. acknowledgement page for future reference or correspondence, if any.. Candidates are allowed to submit only one application form; multiple applications from a candidate will be rejected.
