Brief

SBI PO 2018 exam is conducting by State Bank of India to select candidates for the post of Probationary Officer. SBI PO is one of the most coveted jobs in Banking industry
SBI conducts the examination in three phases in order to carry out the complete recruitment process. The three steps that SBI follows for the recruitment are as follows:

  1. 1. Online Preliminary Examination (Objective Test).
  2. 2. Online Mains Examination (Objective Test and Descriptive Test).
  3. 3. Group Exercises and Personal Interview.

The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) are not added for the selection and only the marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II), both in Objective Test and Descriptive Test, are added to the marks obtained in GE& Interview (Phase-III) for preparation of the final merit list.
Eligible and interested Candidates are required to register online for the recruitment process. The 3-tier selection process consists of Preliminary and Main Exams which will be conducted online, followed by Interview. Candidates must pass each exam to get shortlisted and progress to the next stage. Final selection will be based on merit.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

The candidate must be 21 Years to 30 Years as on 01.04.2018 i.e. candidates date of birth should be between 02.04.1988 and 01.04.1997.

Educational Qualification

The candidate must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. Final year/Semester students of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they must produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 01.07.2018. Candidates with Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate must ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 31.08.2018. Candidates with Chartered Accountant certification may also apply..

Selection Procedure

The candidates should keep in mind the following points related to the SBI PO selection process:

Biometric Verification

Bank may digitally capture the thumb impression of the candidate. This is done to verify the genuineness of the candidates. Any inconsistency in the biometric verification will lead to rejection of the candidature and punitive legal actions. Candidates are thus advised not to apply any kind of external matter like ink, mehndi, chemical etc. on their hands.

Number of Attempts

Candidates appearing in Preliminary Exam is not counted as an attempt but appearing in Mains Exam is counted.

  1. General : 4 attempts

  2. General(PWD) : 7 attempts

  3. OBC/OBC(PWD) : 7 attempts

  4. SC/SC(PWD)/ST/ST(PWD : No restriction

Admit Card or Call Letter

Candidates must have to download the SBI PO 2018 admit card from their official website as the hard copy of the Admit Card will not be sent to the candidate via post. To login on the official website, the candidates will require the following:

  1. 1. Registration No/Roll No

  2. 2. Date of Birth/ Password

Exam Pattern

State Bank of India will be conducting SBI PO 2018 Exam in three phases: Online Prelims Exam, Mains Exam and Interview Process. SBI PO Preliminary Exam is scheduled on 1st, 7th & 8th July 2018 while the Mains Exam is scheduled on 4th August 2018.
Note: SBI has removed sectional cut-off from PO 2018 Exam. The overall score of the examination will be considered for selecting candidates for Mains Exam.
0.25 marks will be deducted for every question attempted wrong by a candidate. No deduction will be there in marks if a question is left unattempted or blank by a candidate.
A candidate who clears both the Prelims & Mains Exam of SBI PO 2018 will be further called for a GD-PI session wherein they will face a panel of selectors discussing on their past experience and questions related to General Knowledge and of the Banking Sector.
Group Discussion - 20 marks, Interview - 30 marks
